Rouser conceptualised and defined DEFY, a bold brand platform built around LifeProof’s core promise. Total protection without compromise. The idea was simple and elastic. If the product can survive the elements, the people who use it should be able to defy them.

Creative System

We developed a striking visual language where typography became an act of defiance itself. DE. FY. Split across scale and surface. Gravity. Elements. Rampage. Each execution paired a single word provocation with high impact environmental photography. Surf. Snow. Street. Rock. The product always present. Always uncompromised.

Execution

The campaign rolled out across large format outdoor, transit, retail, print, digital and social. From city billboards to immersive magazine spreads, the work was designed to feel expansive and physical. Just like the environments it depicted. The FRE case was positioned not as an accessory, but as essential equipment.

Defy rules. Defy expectations. Defy limits.

LifeProof cases are engineered to be waterproof, dirt proof, snow proof and drop proof. Instead of listing features, we dramatized outcomes. Athletes suspended mid air. Surfers slicing through impact. Riders launching from rock faces. Movement frozen at the exact point gravity should win.

The typography reinforced the idea. DE and FY separated by the obstacle itself. Water. Concrete. Air. Snow. The tension between the two halves created visual friction. A subtle metaphor for the product’s role. Protection that holds under pressure.

Importantly, the product never disappeared. It was heroed with honesty. Wet. Iced. Mud covered. Integrated directly into the narrative rather than floating as an afterthought.

The result was a cohesive global platform that elevated LifeProof from technical utility to cultural badge. Not just a case. A mindset.
